Monte Vista High Grad Shot and Killed in San Francisco

A 2007 Monte Vista High graduate was shot and killed at a San Francisco apartment early on the morning of April 13.reports.

Geoffrey Greer, 24, was involved in a dispute before he was shot by 66-year-old Robert E. Graves on the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue at about 2:30 a.m, according to police.

Danville Native Raising Money to Fight Cancer That Killed Her Mother

On May 4 and 5, Riva Litman from Danville is walking in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Washington D.C. in memory of her Niki Litman.

Danville Photographer Pays Tribute To Boston

The tragic events in Boston this week inspired a Danville photographer to show his support for the city.

Sherman Chu collected tennis shoes and lined them up on the country map at Green Valley Elementary School, going from Danville to Boston.

At the end of the trail of shoes, Chu put a jacket, medal and two pairs of shoes worn by his friends from Danville who ran in the Boston Marathon this year.

An Alamo runner had just crossed the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday and was walking off his leg cramps when two bombs exploded behind him, killing three and injuring dozens in downtown Boston.

Stan Rowland, 60, an attorney, said he heard a sound like he'd never heard before a block or two away and turned and saw smoke rising from the marathon route.

According to the race website, 11 Danville residents were listed as runners in the 26.2 mile course. All 11 runners have been accounted for and were not injured in the bombing.
