Danville police searched for a man who robbed Chase Bank Monday morning. The robber stole about $20,000 and fled on foot from the bank on San Ramon Ramon Valley Boulevard. .

U.S. census data for 2010 was released. The data showed that Danville's population for 2010 was 42,039, an increase of 324 residents compared with 2000. .

A Danville police officer who was arrested last weekend resigned. Stephen Tanabe, an Alamo resident, was arrested as a result of an investigation of the Contra Costa County Narcotics Enforcement Team. .

A Danville resident was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 101 in San Mateo County. Daniel William Hoppe, 48, was killed while driving his motorcycle early Thursday morning. Read more about the accident.

The former director of the Discovery Counseling Center in Danville was charged with embezzlement. Thomas Martin, a Concord resident, is accused of misusing $150,000 in funds while overseeing the center that works with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. Read more about the case.

  • The Danville Town council will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the town meeting hall at 201 Front St. During the meeting, Danville Police Chief Steve Simpkins will present the Police Department's annual report.
