San Ramon Valley Schools' Truancy Rate Listed at 24 Percent

About a fourth of San Ramon Valley public school students were reported as truant during the past school year, according to information released by the state superintendent's office. Click the link to find out which schools had the highest rates.

San Ramon Valley High Ranked in Top 100 School in State

San Ramon Valley High was ranked of 416 in the nation and wgiven a state ranking of 80. Monte Vista was given a national ranking of 680 and a state ranking of 131.

Sixteen local elementary schools are participating in the contest, which challenges kids to walk, bike, skateboard or scoot to school instead of riding in a car.

The program, funded by federal grants and business sponsors, is a partnership between the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, law enforcement and elected leaders from San Ramon, Danville and Contra Costa County.
