A Daytrip in Carmel-By-The-Sea

Carmel-by-the-sea this time of year is sunny. If you are like me, you need a little visit to the ocean to clear out the cobwebs. I highly recommend a daytrip to Carmel. Take a beach blanket, wear layers of clothes, and drive down early in the morning. Grab a coffee on Ocean Avenue then go sit on Ocean beach at the end of the main street to watch all the dogs playing with smiles on their faces. The dolphins are close to the beach this time of year because there are tons of anchovies for them to eat right now. Don't forget there is wine tasting in Carmel Valley (just one exit past Ocean Ave, go left at the next intersection for a beautiful drive filled with vineyards). I love to go to Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch restaurant. You can sit outside on the deck in front of 1-of-the-2 fireplaces and look out to the sheep ranch and ocean in the distance. Just for fun - be sure to look in the parking lot for the old Kincaid Photography pick-up truck that was used in Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep's movie, "Bridges of Madison County". The sun is shining bright this time of year - perfect for a daytrip or weekend getaway. Enjoy this time of year at the beach!
