Salutes and Salutations: Danville Community Awards This Thursday

On Thursday, the will announce the community awards for educator of the year, businesses person of the year, citizen of they year, and charitable organization of the year at its annual Community Awards event, "Salutes and Salutations."

The event will also serve as a benefit for the Veteran's Memorial Hall.

It takes place Thursday at 5:30 p.m at the , 420 Front Street.

If finding out who the citizen of the year isn't enough, the event will also serve a hearty appetizer dinner (and wines!) by local restaurants including , , McNamara’s Steak and Chophouse, Scott’s Catering, Absolute Celebrations, , and Yiping to welcome new Chairman of the Board, Jonathan Watts - Attorney at Law.

Additionally, yours truly (as in Danville Patch) will be pouring wine for attendees. So come by, say hi, tell us you like us, and we'll pour you a glass of wine.

But... there's more! During the evening the local band Alma Desnuda will be performing, and the Chamber will hold a raffle of baskets including products, services and gift cards from Chamber Member businesses.

A portion of the raffle proceeds will be donated to the new Danville Veteran’s Hall. And if you bring your own wine glass from a former Danville event you will be entered to win a prize.

Tickets are $50 per person, $95 per couple.
