Koehne said school is still in session and lunch will be served without interruption.

The power outage in Danville appeared to affect businesses along southbound Railroad Avenue, between the stoplight at the Hartz Avenue intersection and Prospect Avenue.

The town of Danville tweeted at 12:48 p.m.:

2900 residents and businesses were without power at 12pm. 1500 have power restored. Outage is near the downtown and PG&E is on scene.

The cause of the outage is still unknown as well as an estimate on when power would be back. Crews are on the scene.

The power went out around noon, Sarkissian said.

The businesses on the northbound side of Railroad Avenue still had power as well as the stoplight at the intersection of Hartz Avenue and Railroad Avenue.

Power at the Rose Garden also went out for a short time but it has been restored.
