Patch Picks: Five Festive Spots for Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo! If you haven't made your party plans quite yet, we've chosen five fun festivities around town to chose from.

The buzz: The Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Maria Maria in the from 4 p.m.-1 a.m. promises to be one of the hottest in town. Popular 80s cover band Tainted Love will be performing on an outside stage for free, and later will move inside to continue the party. There will also be a beer garden outside for those 21 and older, as well as taco stands, margarita and tequila bars. The full menu will be served inside.

The buzz: Head over to Luna Loca in the Livery starting at noon for their celebration that features drink specials, beer and tequila girls, as well as live music from 4-10 p.m. performed by Route 111.

The buzz: That Bar will block off their back parking lot to welcome Cinco de Mayo celebrators of all ages. They will offer drink specials all day, and a dueling pianos performance kicks off at 7 p.m.

The buzz: Blackhawk Plaza’s newest Mexican restaurant will feature food and drink specials all day, as well as live music. If you are a tequila and margarita lover, you will want to make this celebration your Cinco De Mayo destination. Try and make a decision from amongst the staggering list of choices of tequilas and margaritas.

The buzz: Norm’s will host their 7th Annual Cinco de Mustache party, starting at 4 p.m. There will be all you can eat tacos available for $10, and 24 oz. Modelo Especial beers for $6. Always a venue to embrace kitschy fun, revelers are encouraged to sport their best mustache, and bring their bikes for the special Sombrero Ride that begins at 7 p.m. Wear a sombrero and you will receive a complimentary beverage.
