For moms who can't get enough time in the garden:

Danville-Alamo AAUW Garden Tour
Friday, May 7th and Saturday, May 8th, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Children must be 12 or older to attend.
Take a tour of seven private gardens located in Danville and Alamo. Proceeds from the tour benefit the American Association of University Women Educational Foundation.
Tickets may be purchased at the East Bay Flower Company, 206 Sycamore Valley Rd. West in Danville or by mail before April 30. Make checks out to Danville-Alamo AAUW EF, $30 for each ticket or $25 for ages 65+. Send check and self-addressed stamped envelope to:

For moms who love classic cars:

MGs by the Bay Classic Car Show
Saturday, May 8th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Danville Livery
Head over to the Livery for this gathering of MGs from across Northern California. Watch the event for free or register your MG. A $25 entry fee includes a dash-plaque, event T-shirt and coupons from event sponsors. There will be trophies awarded for People's Choice, Best Daily Driver and more.

For moms who love hiking in the great outdoors:

Trail Mixer to Briones Regional Park
Satuday, May 8th, 9 a.m. t0 12 p.m.
The town of Danville hosts a monthly organized hike on one of the area's great trails. In May the group will head to Briones Regional Park.  Pre-registration required and directions and map will be e-mailed to you after you register.

For book loving Moms:

Booktalk and music at Rakestraw Books
Saturday, May 8, 7 p.m.
Prize-winning Irish novelist Roddy Doyle will be reading and signing copies of his new novel, The Dead Republic, while a special musical guest will open the evening. Tickets required.
