Four Days Left in 30-Day Danville Area Sustainable Business Challenge

Local businesses will be recognized for their efforts in the 30-day challenge at a Danville Area Chamber of Commerce event next month.

The doors of some local businesses will soon have Danville Area Sustainable Business decals, showing customers they are contributing to the health and well-being of our community, through their environmentally-friendly business practices.

More than fifteen local businesses will be recognized as Danville Area Sustainable Businesses on Thursday, April 14 at the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce business after-hours mixer.  The event, open to the public (entry $20), will be at the Edward Jones office, 3472 Camino Tassajara, Blackhawk beginning at 5:30pm.

With one week left in the Danville Area Sustainable Business Program’s March 30-Day Challenge, businesses are still working on completing their checklists and taking the pledge to get sustainable.

With all the gloomy weather we’ve been having this week, why not indulge in a delicious hot chocolate at a visit to our latest Danville Area Sustainable Business, Danville Chocolates.  It’s enough of a treat to take in the wonderful aromas of the shop, but we’re sure you’ll be tempted by the many treats that are made fresh daily. Brianna Moore, Danville Chocolates manager, says the store encourages customers to bring along their favorite re-usable mug for a small incentive.

will soon be visiting pledged businesses Rakestraw Books and Fast Signs.  We expect these and others will complete the checklist before the end of the 30-Day Challenge.
