As we did last week with , this week was suggested by a reader.

The female owner (wife) has always been very, very attentive, patient and helpful when I have come in to purchase a bike for my child (8 y.o. now). We purchased our second Trek bike there in November for Christmas and we got a great discount and more money off for our trade-in. Our $400 bike ended up costing about $300. The owner has also been very helpful in fitting my kids' helmets properly. She and her husband have tons of experience and this is the only place I'd buy a bike now. She knows which size you need and what would work best for your needs. They are also very helpful if you need servicing. I have checked out the other two bike stores in Danville and was not as impressed, especially for getting a kid's bike.

Nancy: Green Wheelin' is cool... but it's in Walnut Creek! Though I would love to add them, since we're Danville Patch (covering Alamo), our reader's choice topics need to be in these two towns.

Beth: Which bike store are you referring to? And thanks for the story!

Oops. I forgot to mention my comment was about the California Pedaler!

My dad was a competitive cyclist for the Pedaler in the 80's, and when Jerry Landis owned it we went in there all the time, so it pains me to say it but I'm voting Pegasus. The last three or four times I went into the Pedaler the staff wasn't overly friendly or helpful. I want to love the Pedaler, but the guys at Pegasus are way more personable and helpful.
