The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Community Award ceremony is tonight but we've got the early list.

It's like the Oscars, except for our community and not for Hollywood Movies.

The is holding its community awards tonight at the . The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are still available.

Despite the fact that we're about to tell you who wins, you should still come down for the ceremony.

Also, the event isn't just to announce the awards; it's a benefit for the Veterans Memorial Building.

So, without further ado, the four recipients of this year's 2012 Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Community Awards are...

  • Richard Price, Fire Chief, - Citizen of the Year
  • Marcia Harmon, Owner, - Business Person of the Year
  • Janet Willford, Leadership and Speech/Debate Teacher - Educator of the Year
  • - Charitable Organization of the Year

"Each of these award recipients represents the best of the best in Danville. They are truly what makes our community so wonderful," Shelby McNamara, president of the chamber, said in a released statement this afternoon.

The awards will be presented tonight at the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce's "Salads and Salutations" Community Awards and Installation event at the Danville Community Center, 420 Front Street, Danville.
