Sarah Sloan, a local and beloved voice teacher in Dublin for almost ten years, has been nominated for Best Actress in A Musical for the 2013 Shellie Awards which will be held in January at the Dean Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek.

Sarah, a resident of West Dublin, has taught hundreds of kids over the years from Livermore High School to Mt. Eden High in Castro Valley and has watched the successes of her students as they perform at Tri-Valley Rep, Livermore Valley Opera and countless productions at The Pleasanton Firehouse. They have gone on to Juliard, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and have won countless awards from local NATS competitions to several national contests.

Now, with her highly acclaimed performance as Yum Yum in The Mikado at The Village Theatre in Danville, Sarah has been recognized as a leading performer as well as a popular singing teacher and supporter of community arts in Dublin. A veteran performer for over twenty years, Sarah has worked with many of the established companies in the Bay Area from Lamplighter's Music Theatre in San Francisco to The Pleasanton Chamber Players.

She is currently performing in "Ah, Wilderness" by Eugene O'Neill at The Village Theatre in Danville.

"to Mt. Eden High in Castro Valley.." Actually, Mt. Eden High is in Hayward. IIRC, 2300 Panama Street (funny what you remember after 30 years).
