Where/When: Friday at 8:30 p.m. (or when sun goes down) at in Dublin
Why Go: Enjoy an outdoor movie with your family and friends during Dublin's summer movies series at spacious Emerald Glen Park. Friday's film is Despicable Me, rated PG. Come early with your picnics, blankets and lawn chairs.
Where/When: Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Pleasanton
Why Go: Enjoy a clever spin on a famous fairytale during this musical adventure about Cinderella's stepsisters, who find a portal to another world, get zapped into a very real high school and decide never to return.

Why Go: In this nature program designed for adults and kids, you'll explore the creek and learn about "kids" (aquatic larval forms) that will develop into adult insects and amphibians. Wear closed-toed shoes to protect your feet from sharp rocks.

Where/When: Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at in San Ramon
Why Go: Bring your picnic dinners and blankets to Central Park, where you can kick back and relax or dance in the grass as the band California Beach Party plays music from the early '60s. You'll hear surf music plus summertime favorites like Soak up the Sun, The Twist and Kokomo.
