Safrai Gallery of Jerusalem Brings Art to Walnut Creek

Congregation B'nai Shalom has been awarded an exclusive showing for Northern California of Israeli Art from the Safrai Gallery of Jerusalem.  The Safrai Gallery has been introducing Israeli Artists to the world since 1935.  A few of the featured artists are Avi Ben Simhon, Dorit Levi, Alexandar Klevan, Slava Ilyayev, and Marc Chagall.  This collection of over 1500 works by more than 100 Israeli artists runs from May 10 to 13 at Congregation B'nai Shalom located at 74 Eckerly Lane in Walnut Creek.

 

The public is invited to view this outstanding art beginning Thursday May 10 through Sunday May 13.  A special Lag B’Bomer celebration will be held on Thursday evening, May 10, from 5:30 – 8:00 P.M, with art viewing beginning at 6:00 until 10:00 PM.  Saturday evening, May 12, from 7:30 to 11:00PM will feature a special evening with Havdalah, appetizers, music, desserts, wine, and art exhibition.  The cost for Saturday is $10.00/person, which includes raffle tickets for a piece of art as well as other prizes.

 

Other viewing times are Friday May11 from 9:00AM-2:00PM and Sunday May 13 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. For more information on the times and events call the B’nai Shalom office at 925-934-9446

Thank you for this post. As a parent of two at SRVHS and one at Stone Valley Middle School thisRead More whole thing concerns me greatly. I just have not had the time to look into it. My Junior at SRVHS is in the guinea pig class for the new curriculum. The new curriculum started with AP Biology this year and it has been a disappointment. Parents, including myself, really need to educate ourselves on this. I thought this was a State program not a Fed program. Great...
