Doggie Day in the Park

Alamo Parks and Recreation presents Doggie Day in the Park scheduled for Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 2:00-5:00 p.m.

The event will be held at Hap Magee Ranch Park located on 1027 LaGonda Way, in Danville.

This fun-filled, family event is designed to promote responsible pet ownership and safety.

Scheduled activities include a pet/owner costume parade (gather at the gazebo at 2:00 p.m. to walk in the parade), demonstrations by the Sheriff's Department's K-9 Unit, and dog trainers.

There will be booths with local pet vendors and educators including: Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), Contra Costa County Animal Services and the American Red Cross with information on emergency preparedness for pets.

Free event parking will be located at the San Ramon Valley United Methodist Church located at 902 Danville Boulevard. A free shuttle service will be available at the church to transport you and your dog to the park or you may drop a person and dog off at the park and
then park at the church.
