Art Gallery: Life in Cambodia and Vietnam Opens at Village Theatre

Select students from the Fine Art department at Athenian High will have their work displayed at the Village Theatre Art Gallery through Nov. 9.

The exhibit that offers the perspective of Athenian High School students on life in Cambodia and Vietnam opened at the Village Theatre Art Gallery Oct. 11, and will run through Nov. 9.

The exhibit will reflect upon the images captured during a “spring break intensive” that students elected to go on during the traditional spring break.

The work will be for sale, and a portion of the profit will be given to one of the schools the students visited, Sala Phum Pheak Bourn Primary School in Cambodia.

This exhibit and other related programs, aim to engage the Danville community, educate the audience about life in Cambodia and Vietnam, and bring Athenian’s community into the Village Theatre Art Gallery.

There is also a Young @ Art program scheduled for November 8, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required to attend.
