Abstract Angles on Display in Upcoming Village Theatre Exhibit

The work comes from a collective of abstract painters in the San Francisco Bay area.

The Town of Danville presents twenty four by twenty four during the upcoming art exhibition which features contemporary abstract paintings by Blackburn and Friends.

This exhibit, held at the Village Theatre Art Gallery, runs from January 10 through February 22. Participating artists worked on twenty four inch square canvases, creating compositions within these parameters that utilized a vast array of abstract language.

“The seemingly simple elements of art such as line, SHAPE, color and texture create a powerful array of layering possibilities. As painters we embrace these formal tools in a multitude of application processes always anticipating the next layer. This exhibit will explore the importance of the format, presenting all works on the square and by definition all sides of equal length,” Tesia Blackburn, Blackburn and Friends founder.

Blackburn and Friends are a collective of San Francisco Bay Area abstract painters. This diverse group, from a vast array of professions and corners of the world, were drawn together by a shared interest to explore and express life experiences through an investigation of color, line, texture and shape.
