San Ramon Wolves' Girls Soccer Come from Behind to Defeat Cal High 3-1 (PKS). Moving on to NCS Championship Final.

(18-1-5) was able to overcome some early scores by Cal High to move on to the NCS Championship Final this Saturday. They will face Monte Vista High School for
Unfortunately for Cal High, the Wolves constant attack proved to be too much, the Wolves outshot Cal High 23-2. The early score by Cal High off a corner kick, put the Bears in an early lead. Cal scored again in the second half with a fast breakaway to go up 2-0. Cal then packed the box in the hopes of trying to hold on to the lead. But the assertive attack by Alexa Vandevanter, Reilly Parker, Melissa Lewis, Morgan Idso and Megan Turner allowed the Wolves to score twice in the second half to tie up the game with only minutes left. Scoring goals for the Wolves, first Alexa Vandevanter assisted by Reilly Parker, then Megan Turner assisted by Morgan Idso.
The game moved on to Double Overtime (golden goal), the Wolves continued their attack, but neither team could get a goal forcing a decision by penalty kicks.
Prior to the start of the penalty kicks, San Ramon Valley made a Keeper change putting in Beth Ritter an experienced goalie who has been injured for most of the season. San Ramon prevailed in PK’s with stops by Ritter and Goals by Summer Stamates, Alyssa Alarab and Alexa Vandevanter
Due to the defensive play and the successful season, Cal High (14-5-5) were still holding their heads high as they walked off the field. The NCS final game will take place at Dublin High School this Saturday at 5 pm.
