2 Wins Closer to League Dominance: MV Men's Soccer Roundup

Results from the last two Monte Vista men's soccer games put them in second place in EBAL behind De La Salle.

visits the Spartans on Tuesday, Jan. 24, to battle it out for league dominance. Their last match on Dec. 15, 2011, was a draw at 1-1.

Last Tuesday night, Jan. 17, Monte Vista beat San Ramon Valley High School 2-1. First half: Senior left midfielder Casey Sbrana goal with an assist by senior center midfielder Alex Riley. Second half: Penalty kick on a handball in the box led to the Wolves first and only goal by Jimmy Roth. The winning goal was scored with 18 minutes left in the second half after a Monte Vista corner kick. The goalkeeper for Monte Vista was Troy Galletly. 

Last Thursday night, Jan. 19, Monte Vista beat Livermore 4-1. First half: First goal was by senior forward David Ehlers, assisted by senior center defender Jack Peterson. Second goal was on his own pass by junior midfielder Michael Ha. Mustang's third goal came before the end of the first half. It was a penalty kick by David Ehlers. Monte Vista's fourth goal was by senior forward Jonathon Guzman, assisted by sophomore Jackson Meyer.

Thank you for this post. As a parent of two at SRVHS and one at Stone Valley Middle School thisRead More whole thing concerns me greatly. I just have not had the time to look into it. My Junior at SRVHS is in the guinea pig class for the new curriculum. The new curriculum started with AP Biology this year and it has been a disappointment. Parents, including myself, really need to educate ourselves on this. I thought this was a State program not a Fed program. Great...
