Your donated items will help to support our many Charities located in the East Bay Area.
These Charities are making a choice. Through the Visions of their leadership, they are seeking to break negative cycles, build positive ones and bring hope to those who feel they have none. They are making a choice to build a new way of living that future generations can carry on where children can be happy and free, where the Community is the Village.
Studies show:
Non-Profits continue to face reductions in Federal/State funding at a time when the Public needs them the most.
- Calls to Domestic Violence Shelters have increased year to year (with increased parental stress levels)
- 5 children die a day due to domestic violence
- 80% of the children that die due to abuse are under the age of 4
- 1 in 88 U.S. children has been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) -- recent studies show it may be related to the Mother's health
- An individual's zip code can now be used as a determinant on the longevity of your life...more affluent communities living longer.
- Due to the impact of our current economy, there has been a reduction in Donor contributions much from the "middle class" that supports local Charities.
These are just a few key figures for your information.

- Through lessons learned, they are continuously identifying ways to serve/support the Public.
- Education is a key tool to help bring change including developing positive
self-esteem programs for Adults and Children. - Providing programs such as the "Wraparound Program"
The Wraparound process requires that families, providers, and key members of the family’s social network collaborate to craft a mission statement and a plan for achieving their goals. That plan might include vocational training for parents, drug-free housing, or extra support for teachers—whatever the child and family need. - Building Free Clinics to support the uninsured many that are
children. - Identifying alternative ways to support their clientele through Mentoring Programs, tapping into the Community and recruiting volunteers (sharing the knowledge you have gained in your lifetime).
- Building greenhouses and gardens in order to develop other sources of income, to educate families on healthy eating and to help support their Visions.
- Developing different types of early detection programs in order to enhance quality of life.
As a Community, we also have a choice...a choice to bring change and hope to others.
