Hundreds of people stepped out in downtown Danville Friday night for the 34th annual 'Lighting of the Old Oak Tree' on Diablo Road. The event sponsored by the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce, featured a ceremonial lighting of one of the town's oldest trees, as well as appearances by Father Christmas, the Snow Angel and Mayor Mike Doyle.

Over 30 businesses stayed open late for the event, passing out popcorn, hot chocolate and cider to celebrators.
