New Fitness Trends

Find out what new fitness trends will be coming to California next.

Danville is a wondeful, family oriented, little town. But did you also know that the newest fitness trends usually find their way to gyms and fitness facilities within our quaint town?

I recently came home from presenting at the SCW Fitness Education Convention in Philadelphia, where some of the newest fitness trends and most creative fitness programs are showcased.

SCW Fitness Education's MANIA fitness conventions bring industry leaders to the backyards of fitness professionals throughout the country. Each convention offers workshops on every fitness topic imaginable.

The next SCW Fitness Education Convention will be in northern California at the end of March, so we can look forward to fitness professionals bringing these new formats to fitness facilities within our area

While I was at the fitness convention in Philadelphia, four programs quickly became my favorites. They are all designed to take the boredom and tedius repetition out of fitness classes, while also offering an intense workout. Fitness enthusiasts can look forward to these programs coming to our town in the near future:

  • PILOXING uniquely mixes Pilates and boxing moves into a fat torching, muscle sculpting, core-centric interval workout. It is guaranteed to whip you into shape, using a class format that’s both fun and challenging. PILOXING  blends the power, speed and agility of boxing with the beautiful sculpting and flexibility of Pilates, while also adding fun and sexy dance moves.
  • R.I.P.P.E.D.  is a total body, high intensity style program, utilizing free weights, resistance and body weights. R.I.P.P.E.D. stands for Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance, and Diet. This program combines each of these components with driving, motivating music to jam participants through the programs with smiles, determination and strength.
  • COREBAR is a total body, high intensity, interval-based cardio and conditioning program with non-stop movement and non-stop sweat. Using a weighted bar, this program re-contours, re-defines and re-shapes muscles with particular focus on your core. This program fuses traditional aerobics and resistance training, martial arts and Pilates. Each class leaves you exhilarated from the experience and already looking forward to the next one!

I was asked to be one of the presenters at each SCW Fitness Education Convention throughout the United States in 2011, as the creator of Bad Kitty Sassy Fitness.

Bad Kitty Sassy Fitness is an intense, high energy, pre-choreographed group exercise class. The moves are athletic and dynamic, but with a sassy flavor sprinkled on top. The program is a fun cardiovascular and sculpting workout that fuses high intensity interval training with basic dance moves, while also combining aerobic and body sculpting elements. It has the intensity of a hard core bootcamp, with the fun of a girl's night out!

It was inspiring and energizing to meet so many other creative fitness professionals and entrepreneurs who are taking action to truly change the fitness industry.

The future of fitness is moving toward high intensity programs that also introduce a fun, party atmosphere into the workout.

Having fun with our fitness is a trend we can all look forward to in the future.
