Kids, Grab Your Art Supplies, Win A Ride to School in a Fire Truck
Through Oct. 22, kindergarten-through-fifth-grade students in the local fire district can enter the "Win a Trip to School in a Fire Truck" contest.
It's time get out your art supplies, kids, because they may earn you a ride to school in a fire truck—and the bragging rights that come with it.
Through Oct. 22, children who live within the boundaries of the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District can enter a contest to win a ride to school in a fire truck.
To enter, print the PDF entry form attached to this article, or pick up an entry form at any area school. Then, draw a picture illustrating the theme of "Smoke Alarms, a sound you can live with"— the theme for October's National Fire Prevention Month.
Return the completed drawing to the school's office or any San Ramon Valley fire station by Oct. 22.
A panel of judges will pick a winner from each grade, kindergarten to fifth. Each winner will be chauffeured to school in a fire truck after Oct. 29.
There were more than 100 entries in last year's contest.
Visit www.firedepartment.org/contest to download and print your drawing sheet.
All coloring sheets must be received by Oct. 22. One winner will be selected from each grade level (K-fifth). Winners will be notified by Oct. 29. For more information, call 925-838-6600 or visit www.firedepartment.org.
The contest is sponsored by the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and Patch.
