Do you know where the nearest AED is?

San Ramon Valley Fire currently has a campaign to make sure its list of public access automated external defibrillators, commonly called AEDs, is accurate. You can view the full list of locations in Danville, Alamo and San Ramon, here.

An AED is a computerized medical device that can check a person's heart rhythm and recognize when the heart requires a shock to return it to a normal rhythm. The AED uses voice prompts to guide the rescuer through the appropriate steps to take during a cardiac emergency. AEDs are very accurate and easy to use.

The fire district strongly supports placing AEDs in targeted public areas such as schools, health clubs, community centers, office complexes and shopping centers.

It is very important for the district to know where AEDs are located in the community. In the event of a sudden cardiac arrest emergency, citizens in the area can be immediately directed to the location of the nearest AED.
