'Danville Goes for the Gold' at Business and Culinary Showcase

What does a miniature rescue horse, a neighborhood auction house, and an actual state-of-the-art surgery “teaching” center have in common?

They represent the variety of businesses that are right here in our hometowns, each will be included as one in more than 100 businesses represented at the upcoming Danville Area Chamber of Commerce Business & Culinary Showcase. The event, "Danville Goes for the Gold!" is this Thursday, Sept. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the

Horses Healing Hearts, a Danville non-profit that uses trained and qualified instructors and rescue horses to help families — and even co-workers — work through rough times. It's home to Penny, the miniature rescue horse who’s getting her main and tail coiffed especially to be the official greeter at "Danville Goes for the Gold!"

Bring your own gold to the showcase as another local company, San Ramon’s Auction House, will buy it that evening. Afterwards check out one of Auction House’s twice-monthly auctions of estate collections, jewelry, cars, antiques and any treasure you find you no longer need — whether you’re buying or selling, Auction House has become the way to spend every other Wednesday night.

Danville is home to an internationally-acclaimed surgery institute — Elite MD, Advanced Dermatology, Laser, & Plastic Surgery Institute. Stop by Elite MD’s booth and meet Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Vivek Bansal, MD and Board Certified Dermatologist Sonia Badreshia-Bansal, MD, familiar faces from KRON Channel 4 and The Doctors.

More than 100 local businesses all offering different products and stories as unique as these, will be showcased at the elegant Diablo Country Club which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2014.
