Allison "Alliy" Bayliss, a sophomore at San Ramon Valley High, was reported missing and at-risk of harming herself Monday.

UPDATE: 8:51 p.m. Howard Levitt, director of communications for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, said the search for Alliy Bayliss was called off at 9 p.m. Tuesday because of darkness. Authorities will continue the search at first light Wednesday.
Levitt said the best thing for concerned community members to do is to "continue to get the word out to the broader community," rather than helping with a physical search.
7 p.m. Find Alliy Bayliss Facebook page reaches more than 11,000 fans in about 24 hours.
5 p.m. Bayliss family friend Kevin Sawcheck spoke to the media earlier Tuesday afternoon.
He said a search of Alliy's computer found directions to the Dublin BART station, as well as directions from the Embarcadero to the Golden Gate Bridge using Google Maps bicycle directions. This path led the search team to her bicycle, found locked at a bike rack in a parking lot at Fort Point near the Golden Gate Bridge.
He said no other evidence of Alliy was found near the bike and that it is "highly possible she could have walked back to the city on foot."
Volunteers expanded the San Francisco search to art galleries and museums.
"Everyone is just focused on finding Alliy," said Sawcheck. "We are obviously very worried. Alliy, please come back. We all love you and want you to come back home."
Plans are for the search to continue until dark, and then resume at sunrise, going on as long as necessary, he said.
4 p.m. via Facebook: "The family would like to thank everyone for the support of volunteers. But we currently have all of the volunteers that we can handle. Be on your computer and be prepared for a continued search possibly tonight or tomorrow."
3:11 p.m. Volunteers are being sent to other parts of San Francisco with pictures of missing Danville teen Allison Bayliss. The command post is on Lincoln Boulevard at Armistead Road, near the entrance to the Golden Gate Bridge. People interested in looking for Allison can call John at 925-480-7780.
1:30 p.m. A search team of about 60 law enforcement officials are combing beaches, trails, water and bluff areas in the Marin Headlands, Ocean Beach and Land's End in San Francisco, using horses, helicopters and boats.
Many friends, family members and volunteers from Danville have joined the searchers. Involved agencies include the Danville police, U.S. Park Police, San Francisco Police, National Park Service rangers and Golden Gate Bridge district patrol officers, said Howard Levitt, National Park Service, director of communications.
"We are hopeful we will find her safe and sound. There is no timeframe on how long the search will go on," he said.
Crews began their search at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday. Bayliss was reported missing Monday by her parents.
10 a.m. via Facebook: Vigil planned for Allison and her family 7 p.m. Wednesday at Danville Congregational Church, 989 San Ramon Valley Blvd. According to the Facebook post: "All are welcome. We will be handing out candles, fliers, etc."
9:55 a.m.: News reports say the search for Allison is focused at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge.
9 a.m.: San Ramon Valley High School officials say counseling teams are set up to help students worried about missing student Allison Bayliss. Many students are wearing blue in support of her.
6:30 a.m.: According to a National Park Service spokesman, the bike of a missing Danville teen has been found near San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge and a search is under way for her Tuesday morning.
David Bayliss, the father of missing San Ramon Valley High School sophomore Allison Bayliss, is in San Francisco on Tuesday morning looking for his 15-year-old daughter, who was last seen about 8 a.m. Monday at school with her bike.
He told KTVU that he's waiting for helicopter and water search crews to arrive.
"We're just hoping and praying that Allison's alive," Bayliss said.
About 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, Bayliss' family informed authorities that they had found Allison's bike chained to a bike rack in a parking lot at Fort Point near the Golden Gate Bridge.
The area is now being searched by U.S. Park Police, park service rangers, San Francisco police and others, Levitt said.
A description of the situation on a Facebook page created for Allison Bayliss states that a suicide note, along with directions to San Francisco locations, was found.
Her parents reported her missing Monday, and Danville police, along with the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team, began a search late Monday.
They were joined by dozens of volunteers who gathered before sundown at Greenbook Elementary for a briefing by police before they began looking for Allison.
She was last seen wearing a red zip hoodie jacket, jeans and mismatching flip-flops, one green and one yellow. Allison is 5-foot-8, has blue eyes and blonde hair and weighs 130 pounds (see photo). She had a black and purple Diamondback mountain bike with her.
A Facebook page created to help find Allison and bring her home safely had gathered more than 8,500 members by Tuesday afternoon. Another one, which has attracted almost 800 members, calls for people to wear blue ribbons Tuesday in a show of support for the missing girl.
Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately or 925-646-2441.

My Daughter is transfering there in the fall from Montevista. Does she have any Freshman friends? I can have my daughter check as she has a lot of friends there. This can expand things to contacts from Montevisa. Let me know if I can help. This is way too close to home.

Being a teenager is hard, but remember, high school is just 4 short years of your life, and things get so much better after that.

So.....where was she last seen? That may help and they should probably add it to this story. And "at risk", in what sense? May she have run off with someone? Kidnapped or left on her own? A little context/research/police statements will help. to this story would help than

Ally please wait & see, it's going to get so much better, my daughter ran away couple of times at your age, now she's married with a beautiful daughter & modeling and she's a Personal Trainer. It will happen, Ally, please be patient, Don't do it, I was depressed most of my teenage years not knowing how good life will be. Sometimes you think everyone else is happy and you are miserable, but not true. Most people smile a lot and laugh but they are depressed and covering up some secrets in their family. we all have them, but life is great, there's nothing better! Just wait until your brain finishes developing and you will feel so much more confident. At 25 years old the brain completes development & you make better & good decision. The hormones are controlling your thoughts right now, it's rough, but believe me it gets better! There are some cruel people out there, but mostly lonely people looking for someone to love them. We love you, come visit me in Danville, meet my daughters. They will tell you how rough teenage years were for them & how it changed when you get out there in the work world. You wouldn't believe how much better it will be, just be patient and seek out the lonely confused teenagers that are acting out their fears. reach out to them, and feel their love. Like a puppy just seeking approval from others. I know I was there, it was scary & lonely. I wanted to commit suicide and am so glad that I didn't and I found out how beautiful I am. Call me 925 413-1063 Lori

Life can be difficult for us all, at any age. That's why it's so important to reach out when you feel like life is pulling you under. Crisis and suicide lines are always open to offer support, encouragement and suggestions.
This is so sad. She has her whole life ahead of her. I hope and pray that she is found ok so she can get the help she needs. I agree with another poster - this IS really close to home.

I attended the vigil tonight for her at the Danville Congregational Church. It was beautiful to see how many people truly did care and love Alliy. The swim team that Alliy and I are on, later had a counseling session to talk about how we feel. It was great to hear all these happy memories of her, she is such a wonderful friend to all!
I love you!!!!!

Not to cast a bad light on the subject, but I just read that Alliy is believed to have taken her own life. Question....why would someone take the time to lock their bike if they were about to commit suicide?? Someone needs to question this. My prayers go out to the family.

@Steve, sadly we will never know why. I remember studying irrational vs. rational suicide in a class once.
To Alliy's family and friends, I am very sorry for your loss.
