Great Community Support for Veterans Memorial Building!
Your Veterans Memorial Building Development Committee of San Ramon Valley celebrated a wonderful "Last Hurrah," with people of all ages coming to learn its history and record their own memories of time spent there. Seniors examined the large space for their activities, social organizations members and businesses learned how the new building works for their fundraisers and meetings, special spaces for Veterans were shown, and families saw opportunities for their weddings and reunions.
We are so appreciative for all the volunteers who made this day special and for all of you who shared your memories. Your elected officials recommitted their signatures on the 2006 Joint Proclamation to construct a fine facility. Community members collected permanent memories on videotape, a memory book, and a scroll of military service. Our local historical societies and museum venerated the closing of the Hall. And, with gratitude, our Admirals and Sentinel Warriors presented Challenge Coins to those of you who have donated to this project.
Our community's support for the hall's renovation and expansion is outstanding! The Town of Danville will receive construction bids until 2 pm, May 18. Construction is scheduled to begin July 5.
This will be a beautiful facility for all Valley residents! You can learn more about the facility and how you can become involved at srvveteranshall.org or call Linda at (925) 362-9806.
